Grade 2 News

It has been another busy and exciting week in Grade Two!
Mathematics: We have been learning about 2D shapes, including naming and identifying shapes, describing their features and sorting them according to their properties. We have been exploring concepts such as sides, vertices and parallel lines through hands-on activities and problem-solving.
Writing: In Writing, we have been developing our persuasive writing skills through the wonderful book The Day the Crayons Came Home. Students have been exploring persuasive language and writing convincing letters from the perspective of a crayon, giving reasons and examples to support their opinions.
Religion: We have begun a new focus on Care for Creation. Students are exploring how we can show care and respect for God's creation and considering the ways we can make responsible choices to look after our environment and the world around us.
