Foundation News

Our Foundation students have continued to embrace their learning with enthusiasm and curiosity over the last 2 weeks!

In English, students have been growing their phonics knowledge by continuing to learn about digraphs (two letters that make one sound, for example: shop, lock, tree) and practising a range of tricky words (sets 1-8 in their home reading diaries). We have also enjoyed exploring the structure of narratives and identifying the key parts of a story, while also building our editing skills.

In Mathematics, we have continued exploring measurement, investigating, and comparing length and mass through hands-on activities. The children have enjoyed using a variety of objects to measure, compare and describe their findings, and are now looking forward to beginning our learning about capacity.

In Religion, we begin our new unit on 'Let's Celebrate God's Creation'. As part of this unit students will begin to appreciate and express wonder at God’s presence throughout creation and discuss how we can care for creation in our daily lives.

A wonderful highlight last week was celebrating Grandparents' Day. It was a special opportunity for students to share their learning, participate in our liturgy, and celebrate the important role grandparents and special loved ones play in our lives. We thank all our grandparents and special visitors who joined us for this memorable occasion. It was a joy to see the smiles, connections, and shared moments throughout the morning.

Reminder: Book Week Dress Up & Parade next Tuesday, 25th of August at 9:10am
