Year 2 News

Thank you to all the mothers and special people who came into our classrooms on Friday for our Mother’s Day activities. We hope you have enjoyed the letters, hearts and wrapping paper that we made for you. Thank you for all that you do!
As a Catholic Learning Community, the junior stdents across foundation, grade 1 and grade 2 joined together for our first Liturgical Singing lesson with Anna Di Simone. We learned a new song called "Children of God" by Christopher Walker. Thank you to Father Brendan for arranging this for us and to Miss Anna for teaching us.
As independent learners, we are working on building our independence in Grade 2. Starting in Week 4, we will be asking students to say their goodbyes to parents downstairs, unpack their bags independently and commence learning.
As writers, we have been focusing on our handwriting with specific attention to letter formation and placement on the lines. A great resource for students to use at home is the Oxford Handwriting First website, which shows correct posture, hand placement and letter formation
