LIGHTS............ACTION!

On Friday the 21st the Creative Arts department received a very exciting upgrade - new LED lights! Our Drama room is the same dimensions as the stage at Griffith Regional Theatre and John Matkovich and Mark Macedone from Pristine Productions helped design a rig which now enables students to design sets and lighting states which unlock endless atmospheres and opportunities. The students are already enjoying performing under the lights and we cannot wait for restrictions to ease and hold audiences once again! The lights arrived just in time for the Year 12 Drama HSC performances which are this upcoming Tuesday, 1st of September. We keep them in our prayers and say 'break a leg!'

Year 12 HSC Drama

On Tuesday morning (01/09/2020) the Year 12 HSC Drama students completed their Individual Projects. All 7 students elected to perform a monologue. The monologues ranged from tragedy to comedy and covered a series of topics the students were interested in exploring. The performances used material from published plays, film, song, and self devised work. They absolutely shone under the new lights, operated by Year 11 Drama students Harry Laurent and Lilly Harris. The performances ran between 6 - 8 minutes each and were marked by external markers.A big thank you to everyone involved (staff and parents!) in helping the students reach marking day. The students should be very proud of their commitment and hard work, and despite the heartache of no audiences allowed, the big grins on their faces as they left the Drama room was worth their triumphant efforts.
