Pastoral Care News

One of the values identified as part of our MCC Mission statement is SERVICE which is defined as “Responding compassionately to the needs of others and promoting awareness that inspires commitment and active ministry.”

This week we have kept the Bauit family in our thoughts and prayers. The family were recently involved in a horrific accident and sadly Mr Bauit passed away. We will continue to support the emotional needs of the family but we would also like to provide financial assistance at this emotional time as they try to move forward and especially as one of the children begins a long road of recovery from her injuries. It is at times like this we are called upon to assist and serve others.

We are a loving community and in times of need we rally together to provide assistance wherever and whenever we can. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions we cannot undertake the normal activities which would help us raise such vital funds so we have had to look at other means.

We will be conducting a raffle and hoping the wider MCC community and the Griffith community at large would be so kind as to donate items, goods or services which we could use as part of a mega raffle. All proceeds would be given directly to the family and reduce some of the stress that they are currently experiencing. We will be selling tickets until the end of the school year and winners will be notified in the final week of school.

I understand that 2020 has been a trying year for many on a variety of levels and I am so grateful for the support that has been given to our activities so far……….the amount of donations for our “I CARE KIT” activity has been phenomenal however we can never anticipate such incidents within our Marian family and I hope that we can come together as a community once again to show our support to a much loved Marian family.

If you have any donations of goods or services please leave the details with the staff at the front office or contact me directly.

In our next newsletter I hope to have the raffle details finalised and we will dedicate our section to our “I CARE KITS”. Again, thank you for your donations of items; your generosity is greatly appreciated.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, for those who still have your father with you; cherish the special moments because as life has cruelly shown us; things can change in a moment.

Enjoy the beginning of spring and let us hope it is the beginning of wonderful things to come.

Regards
