YEAR 7 NEWS…

This term has been very exciting with many opportunities for the Year 7 students once again. Students this term have participated in a range of activities from St Mary’s Day, R U Ok? Day, NQ Cross Country Championships, Year 7 Camp, NAIDOC Week Celebrations, Catholic Education Week, SMCC Athletics Carnival, TCS Sport Carnival just to mention a few. All these events have been opportunities for students to grow in their academic, sporting, and cultural abilities personally and at a community level. Next term will be another opportunity for such growth leading the students into Year 8.

On 5th September, families across Australia celebrated Father’s Day. This was a day where people took the opportunity to thank the father figures in their lives that have assisted them to become the people they are today. These days remind us all how fortunate we are to have these men in our lives to continue in the growth and development throughout our lives. Please see below a prayer shared with the Year 7 students in the lead up to Father’s Day.

Let us pray for the fathers in our lives.

Dear God,

This Father's Day we remember the many sacrifices fathers make for their children and families, and the ways both big and small they lift children to achieve dreams thought beyond reach.

So too, we remember all those who have helped fill the void when fathers are absent, grandfathers and uncles, brothers and cousins, teachers, clergy and coaches – and the women of our families. For those who are fathers, we ask for wisdom and humility in the face of the task of parenting. Give them the strength to do well by their children and by You.

In Your Holy name, O God, we pray.

Amen

Take the time over these next two weeks to enjoy a well deserved break and return refreshed ready to finish out the year excited for 2022!
