2024 Study Tour

The Study Tour to Indonesia planned for June 2024 has generated significant interest among students. This eleven-night tour will offer a diverse itinerary, covering the enchanting island of Bali, the vibrant capital Jakarta, the culturally rich Bandung, and the historical royal city of Yogyakarta. Participants can look forward to engaging in cultural workshops, exploring renowned landmarks like Borobudur and Prambanan temples, and immersing themselves in local markets to practise their Indonesian language skills.

I am currently in the process of obtaining the final quote from the tour company. Once I have the information, I will share it with parents. To stay updated, please contact me at the College to be added to the mailing list (srogers@aitkencollege.edu.au). As spaces for the tour are limited, priority will be given to students who demonstrate a strong interest in deepening their understanding of Indonesian culture and language.

The photos below show some of the highlights of the most recent study tour which was held in 2019.

Education Perfect

As part of our language curriculum, all Year 7 to 12 students utilize the Education Perfect app to support their Indonesian language studies. This term, we will be introducing a new set of Indonesian words each week for students in Dunhelen. Regular vocabulary tests will assess their recall and contribute to their overall assessment. We encourage students to complete the weekly homework activities to strengthen and expand their language skills.

Sayembara Lisan

We extend our best wishes to the five talented Year 7 students who have made it to the finals of the Sayembara Lisan, an Indonesian speaking competition held at Melbourne High School this Saturday. These exceptional students, Darsh and Amyra from 7S, Aaryan K and Jesleen from 7C and Keana from 7K, have displayed remarkable dedication in their preparation for this event. We have every confidence that they will represent the College with distinction and make us proud.
