Changes To Public Transport - 2026

Free Public Transport for Under-18s from 1 January 2026

From 1 January 2026, all Victorian residents under 18 will be eligible for FREE daily travel on all public transport, including trains, trams, buses, and regional coaches.

This new initiative introduces a Youth myki card, replacing the current paid student passes and offering significant savings for families for both school and weekend travel.

To access free travel in 2026, families will need to apply for the new Youth myki card via the Transport Victoria website. Please find the link to log in or register for MYKI Manage your myki - Transport Victoria.

Please ensure applications are completed ahead of time so students are ready for the start of 2026.
