Middle School Report

Middle School 2025 – Year in Review
It has been a wonderful year of growth, achievement, and connection across our Middle School. From the very beginning of 2025, our students approached every opportunity with enthusiasm, adaptability, and a commitment to learning. They navigated change with positivity and pride, consistently demonstrating readiness to engage and contribute to all areas of school life.
Our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Framework continued to guide our approach to creating a calm, respectful, and supportive learning environment. Our Middle School students have truly embraced these expectations, helping to foster a culture where everyone feels safe, valued, and ready to succeed.
Throughout the year, students eagerly participated in a range of whole-school events and co-curricular activities. The Swimming Carnival, Athletics Day, and Sports Days were standout moments on our calendar, showcasing incredible school spirit, teamwork, and participation.
A particular highlight for me was the Year 9 City Camp, where students engaged in learning experiences beyond the classroom, exploring key sites in the CBD, developing an understanding beyond their immediate area, creating new relationships, fostering teamwork, and building resilience. This camp provided a fantastic opportunity for students and staff to connect, strengthening relationships that support both personal and academic growth.
A primary focus in 2025 has been on developing future readiness through our Year 9 and 10 programs. Students explored diverse learning opportunities, including our Year 9 Pathways Program, VVP at Year 10, and work experience for all Year 10s, all targeted at building valuable skills and gaining insights into their interests and potential career pathways. Their curiosity and willingness to step beyond their comfort zones have been evident.
The Course Counselling process is a key aspect of the year, supporting students in making informed decisions about their future learning pathways. Through thoughtful discussions with staff and families, students reflected on their strengths, interests, and goals as they prepared for the next stage of their education. This process not only ensured that students selected subjects aligned with their aspirations but also encouraged them to take ownership of their learning journeys.
Students also benefited from ADF (Australian Defence Force) Incursions and Vocational Taster experiences, providing valuable insights into pathways and life skills. These programs connected classroom learning with real-world applications, inspiring students to think about their futures with confidence and curiosity.
To conclude the year, our Health and Wellbeing Days and Celebration Days brought the Middle School community together to recognise the achievements, growth, and efforts of all our students. A sincere thank you goes to the Year 9 and 10 teams and the teachers for their dedication and leadership in making all aspects of events and curriculum offerings so memorable.
Overall, 2025 has been a year of progress, connection, and achievement for our Middle School. We are incredibly proud of our students for the way they have embraced challenges, celebrated successes, and made such a positive contribution to our college community.
Congratulations to all on a fantastic year!
