RAC bstreetsmart Event

Year 11 RAC bstreetsmart Event
In Week 10 of Term 1, the Year 11 group attended the RAC bstreetsmart event at RAC Arena. Students saw a crash scene enactment attended by emergency services, just as it would occur at a real crash site. This demonstrated the consequences of distracted driving, speeding and drink driving, as well as the effect of peer group pressure on decision-making.
The presentation was narrated by a car crash survivor, a police officer, a paramedic and a trauma surgeon. Students were encouraged to reduce risk-taking behaviours as both drivers and passengers. This event focused on driver and passenger behaviour and highlighted the far-reaching effects of road crashes.
It was an incredibly engaging and thought-provoking presentation. The information presented at this event is valuable and was experienced at an important time in the lives of our Year 11 students.
Thank you to our students for attending and to the staff for supporting them at this event.
