Cricket Academy – Term 2 Highlights

Our Cricket Academy students wrapped up a fantastic Term 2 with an exciting inter-school T20 match against St Francis Catholic College.  Batting first, Mickleham Secondary College posted an impressive 165/8, with Gurjas and Prabhnoor providing a blistering opening partnership to set the tone for the innings. With the ball, Armaan and Rayyan gave the team the perfect start, taking early wickets and applying pressure from the outset. St Francis fought back well, but Nirban spun a web through the middle overs, claiming three crucial wickets to help secure a well-deserved victory.  The match was a fitting reward for what has been a busy and productive term.

Throughout Term 2, students demonstrated outstanding commitment and enthusiasm, attending regular academy sessions focused on batting, bowling, fielding, strength and conditioning, match awareness and personal development. Their work ethic, willingness to learn and support one another has been outstanding and is a credit to both themselves and the Academy.

This term also saw strong interest in our Cricket Academy, with applications now received for our 2027 intake. We have been thrilled by the enthusiasm shown by prospective students and their families and look forward to welcoming the next cohort of talented young cricketers into the program.

Most importantly, the term has seen students grow not only as cricketers but also as young leaders, displaying excellent sportsmanship, resilience and teamwork both on and off the field. Congratulations to all Academy students on a successful Term 2.

We look forward to building on this momentum with more inter-school fixtures, competitions and exciting development opportunities in Term 3.
