YEAR 7 COMMUNITY BBQ
Mickleham Secondary College recently hosted a fantastic Year 7 BBQ. The BBQ was a wonderful opportunity for Year 7 students to connect with their peers, teachers, and members of the school community in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
The event kicked off with a sizzling array of classic sausages all prepared and served by our dedicated staff and parent volunteers. The smell of grilled food filled the air as students and their families eagerly lined up to grab their snags and enjoy a tasty meal together.
What made the BBQ truly special was not just the food, but the sense of community it fostered. Teachers and staff also took part in the fun with everyone, making the event feel like one big family gathering. The highlight of the day was the variety of fun activities organized for everyone. From soccer matches to fun games, there was no shortage of ways to stay active and entertained.
In reflecting on the success of the BBQ, the Junior School Assistant Principal, Bradley Collins, expressed his delight at seeing the Year 7 students so engaged and enthusiastic. “It’s wonderful to see our Year 7s settling in so well and forming connections with each other. The BBQ was a great way to celebrate their first term here at Mickleham Secondary College, and we’re looking forward to many more such events in the future.”
As the sun set on the eventful day, students and staff left with full stomachs and happy hearts, looking forward to the exciting year ahead. The Year 7 BBQ was not just a celebration of good food, but a reminder of the strong sense of community and belonging that makes Mickleham Secondary College such a special place.
