Year 8 Science - Exploring the structures of the heart
Our Year 8 students have been diving deep into the circulatory system with an exciting hands-on experience—heart dissections! This practical lesson allowed them to explore the structure of the heart up close, reinforcing their understanding of key concepts such as blood flow, valves, and chambers. By combining theory with real-world application, students gained a greater appreciation of how this vital organ functions to keep our bodies running. Well done to all our budding scientists for their curiosity and enthusiasm!
Year 9 Science - A Shocking Experience at the Lightning Theatre!
One hundred of our Year 9 students recently experienced the power of electricity in action at the high-voltage Lightning Theatre! This spectacular live physics show explored how we create and use electricity, bringing key curriculum concepts to life. Through exciting demonstrations, students discovered the connections between electricity, magnets, and movement—learning how these principles apply to real-world devices like generators, electromagnets, and electric motors. It was an electrifying experience that sparked curiosity and deepened their understanding of physics! ⚡🔬
