HUMANITIES

Students have been hard at work building their skills and knowledge in Civics, History and Geography in Humanities this term. They are to be commended for the focus and commitment they have shown towards their learning journey so far this year.
Year 7
Students in Year 7 spent the beginning of this term learning about what it means to be an Australian citizen and how they can actively participate in our legal system. They are now working on their geography unit, learning all about water in the world, its many uses and how important it is to us.
Year 8
Our Year 8’s also began the year focusing on Civics, discovering the roles of our different courts, the various types of laws we have and how laws are made.
Our history unit kicked off last week, with students travelling back in time to explore Japan under the rule of the Shoguns.
Year 9
It’s been all about geography in Year 9 this term. Students have explored the various biomes of the world, the factors that impact farming and the sustainability of these for future food security, creating a PowerPoint to demonstrate their learning. We are now investigating our globalised world and the different ways we are connected as global citizens.
