Principals Report

We are now deep into Term 3, and it is a joy to walk through the hallways each day, witnessing the engagement of our students and hearing the wonderful sounds of learning taking place throughout the school. 

Last Sunday's Gospel (Matthew 16:13-20) tells of Jesus asking His disciples, "Who do you say I am?" Peter responds with faith, declaring that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus asks us the same question today. We answer not only with our words but also through our actions. When we show kindness, compassion, and respect to others, we share Jesus' love with the world. May we be inspired by Peter's faith and have the courage to follow Jesus each day. 

We have a great deal happening around the school at the moment, and the coming weeks promise to be even busier.

Book Week Parade 

This Friday, we will celebrate all that is wonderful about literature and reading. Students are encouraged to dress as their favourite book character, and we will begin the day with our Book Week Parade at 9:00am. Following the parade, students will participate in a variety of Book Week activities throughout the day. 

Learning Conversations 

Learning Conversations will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to connect with your child's teacher, celebrate progress, and discuss areas for future growth. I encourage all families to take advantage of this important opportunity. 

Calling All Dads! 

A reminder that we will be celebrating Father's Day in a similar way to our Mother's Day celebrations earlier this year. 

The day will begin with a special Father's Day Liturgy in the MPB at 10:00am, followed by a shared morning tea. Dads, step-dads, grandfathers, and special father figures will then have the opportunity to join their children in the classroom for some fun Father's Day activities. 

Please save the date: Friday, 4 September. 

We look forward to welcoming as many dads, step-dads, grandfathers, and father figures as possible to celebrate this special occasion with us. We hope you can join us. 

New Morning Arrival Procedures for Term 4 

As we look ahead to Term 4, we are making an important change to our morning arrival procedures to ensure the safety of our students and to provide our teachers with the appropriate time to prepare for the school day. 

From the beginning of Term 4, students will not be permitted on school grounds before 8:30am, when staff supervision officially commences (apart from students who attend Running Club at 8am on Fridays). This change will help ensure all students are appropriately supervised and support a safe and orderly start to the day. 

The time before school is important for teachers to prepare learning experiences, organise resources, communicate with families and colleagues, and attend to the many responsibilities that help make each school day a success. 

A detailed email outlining the new arrangements will be sent to families tonight, including information about supervision times and arrival procedures. 

We appreciate the support of our families as we implement this change and continue working together to provide a safe, positive, and well-organised learning environment for all students. 

ORIMA Parent Survey 

If you were one of the families randomly selected to complete the ORIMA Parent Survey, we encourage you to do so at your earliest convenience. 

The feedback gathered through this survey is highly valued and plays an important role in our school improvement planning. Combined with student and staff feedback, it helps us identify strengths, areas for growth, and priorities for the future. 

Thank you to those who have already completed the survey. Your feedback helps us continue to improve outcomes for all members of our school community. 

A Reminder About Afternoon Pick-Up 

Thank you for your ongoing support with our afternoon pick-up procedures. To help keep Woods Road and Orr Street as safe and uncongested as possible, we ask families using the drive-through service to arrive no earlier than 3:14pm. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and helps ensure a smoother and safer experience for everyone.
