Important Announcements

We are so excited to be offering our Writing High Achievers the opportunity to take part in Write a Book in a Day! The students are already very excited, and we know it is going to be a fantastic and valuable experience for them.

This is a full-day event, running from 8.30am–4.30pm, where students will work together to plan, write and illustrate their very own book, all while raising money to support sick kids through The Kids’ Cancer Project.

The money raised helps fund vital childhood cancer research, supporting researchers to find better, kinder and more effective treatments for children with cancer and ultimately improve outcomes for sick kids and their families.

We are so excited that we can offer our students this opportunity.  It will be a big day of creativity, teamwork, writing and plenty of excitement, and we can’t wait to see what our talented writers create!

We are also incredibly proud of our students for using their talents to help others and showing such wonderful care and compassion for children and families facing cancer.

Help Shape Safer School Travel

Moira Shire Council is developing School Travel Plans to help make journeys to and from school safer and easier for students and families. As part of this project, students, parents, carers, school staff and community members are invited to share their experiences, ideas and road safety concerns.

We encourage all members of our school community to participate and help shape safer school travel for current and future students. We particularly encourage our Sacred Heart parents and carers to identify any traffic or road safety concerns around our school. Your feedback will help ensure local issues are recognised and considered as part of future planning and improvements to traffic management and road safety in the Sacred Heart area.

Drive through reminder

To ensure a safe and smooth pick-up process, we kindly remind that parents to not enter the drive-through prior to 3:14 p.m. When vehicles line up too early, the queue extends into the busy Woods Road roundabout, causing traffic congestion and creating potential safety concerns.

Please note that the drive-through is designed for continuous traffic flow and is not intended for parking and waiting for the 3:15 p.m. dismissal bell.

SunSmart Reminder – Sunscreen

It is great to see our students following our SunSmart Policy by wearing their SunSmart hats.

Thank you for your support in helping us keep our students safe in the sun.

As the UV Index is now regularly above 3, it is also time to ensure students are applying sunscreen.

While we provide sunscreen in classrooms and remind students to apply it before going outdoors, we also encourage all students to apply SPF50 sunscreen before arriving at school each day.

If your child is sensitive to sunscreen, please provide their preferred sunscreen to school to ensure their comfort and safety.

The SunSmart website also has some great tips and information to help families stay SunSmart at home and when out and about.

Thank you for helping us keep our Sacred Heart community safe and SunSmart!
