Performing Arts

If any students are still stuck on what to wear for Book Week this Friday, they are welcome to visit the 'Costume Department' this Thursday lunchtime and we can help them out with something for the Friday parade.
Our Drama unit has continued to immerse our students in the exciting world of script reading, character exploration, and rehearsals this term. Across all year levels, students are developing their confidence, creativity, and performance skills as they prepare for a range of dramatic tasks and presentations.
Our junior students have been exploring the important behind-the-scenes elements of theatre through set design and prop creation. They have enjoyed bringing our chosen texts to life by designing and creating visual elements that help establish mood, setting, and atmosphere on stage.
In the middle years, students have been focusing on the technical aspects of performance, learning the significance of stage cues, markers, and spatial awareness. Through practical rehearsals, they are developing a deeper understanding of how performers work together to create smooth and effective productions.
Our senior students are challenging themselves to master the art of solo performance. As they continue to refine their acting techniques, they are also exploring new scripts and taking on a variety of roles as part of their second drama assessment task for the term. Their dedication, creativity, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones have been great to see!
It has been wonderful to see students across all year levels actively engaged in the creative process. I look forward to seeing their continued growth throughout the remainder of the term.
Singing, dancing and signing off!
