Dear Parents and Carers,
As we reach the end of Week 4, it is wonderful to see the enthusiasm, confidence and positive energy our students continue to bring to school each day. Term 4 is always busy, and there is certainly plenty happening at Le Page Primary School!
A Wonderful Week of Learning
This week, our Foundation to Year 2 students enjoyed a Responsible Dog Ownership incursion, learning important lessons about interacting safely and respectfully with dogs. Our Year 2 students were also entertained by the Charlie Silly Pants Show, while today they have the exciting opportunity to visit the Police Academy. On Thursday, students were invited to wear bandanas in recognition of Canteen's Bandanna Day, raising awareness and showing support for young people affected by cancer. Our students have also been completing their PAT Maths assessments, providing teachers with valuable information about their progress and helping us plan the next steps in their learning.
Our Positive Behaviour Expectations - The 7 Habits in Action
This week, we introduced our new Positive Behaviour Expectations poster, reinforcing the importance of making good choices, treating others respectfully and working together to create a safe and happy school environment. The poster focuses on three of our Leader in Me habits:
These expectations are being explicitly taught and reinforced across the school, particularly in the playground. Our message is simple: every student has the right to feel safe, respected and included, and every student has a responsibility to contribute to this. As a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, we believe that leadership begins with the everyday choices our students make. I encourage families to discuss these three habits at home and help us reinforce the positive behaviours that make Le Page such a wonderful school community.
Looking Ahead - Art Show and Prep Transition
Next week is a shorter school week, with our Curriculum Day on Monday 2 November and the Melbourne Cup public holiday on Tuesday 3 November. Our staff will use the Curriculum Day to focus on student wellbeing, literacy and numeracy, assessment, reporting and planning for 2027.
One of the highlights of next week will be our School Art Show on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 November. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity, imagination and artistic talents of our students. I am looking forward to seeing their work proudly displayed and hope families enjoy this special celebration of the arts.
On Wednesday, we welcome our 2027 Foundation students for their fourth transition session. It is always a pleasure watching our newest students become increasingly confident and comfortable in their future school environment. We look forward to welcoming them and their families into our Le Page community.
The Smile Squad dental van will also be arriving next week, supporting our ongoing commitment to student health and wellbeing.
High Expectations, Strong Relationships and a Positive School Community
At Le Page Primary School, we believe that every child has talents worth discovering, abilities worth developing and the potential to become a confident leader. Our high expectations extend beyond academic achievement. We want our students to be kind, responsible, resilient and respectful young people who understand that their choices have an impact on others.
Thank you to our dedicated staff for the care, patience and professionalism they demonstrate each day, and to our families for your continued support and partnership.
I wish everyone a safe, enjoyable and relaxing long weekend.
A thought to finish the week:

Every positive choice, every act of kindness and every effort to improve contributes to making Le Page Primary School a wonderful place to learn and grow.
