Amazing 5/6

Year 5/6 Newsletter – Week 4, Term 4
We have another busy and exciting few weeks ahead in Year 5/6 as we continue to build on our learning and prepare for some important end-of-year events!
Coming Up
Bike Ed is coming up next week, providing students with a fantastic opportunity to develop their cycling skills and road safety knowledge. Our Year 6 students are also beginning to organise their Graduation, which is always a special milestone as we celebrate their primary school journey. In addition, our Year 6s will be taking on leadership responsibilities as they run the school’s upcoming Sports Day. We look forward to seeing them demonstrate initiative, teamwork and leadership!
Literacy
We are continuing to enjoy Last Day on Mars as our class novel, exploring the characters, setting and exciting events within the story. Next week, we will begin our new story-writing unit, where students will have the opportunity to develop their creativity, experiment with descriptive language and craft engaging narratives of their own.
Maths
Over the next few weeks, students will be completing a range of assessments to help us gauge their current levels of understanding and progress across the mathematical concepts covered this semester. This will allow us to celebrate their achievements, identify areas for further development and ensure students are well supported as they prepare for the transition into the next year level.
Thank you for your continued support as we head into another productive and exciting part of Term 4!
