Year 5/6 Choir performs at Festival of Voices

Our Year 5/6 Choir recently had the exciting opportunity to participate in Young Tasmania Sings as part of Festival of Voices; Tasmania’s premier celebration of singing and one of Australia’s most well-known vocal festivals.

This special event brings together approximately 250 young singers from school and community choirs across Tasmania, giving them the opportunity to perform alongside the Tasmanian Youth Orchestra under the direction of Sydney-based guest conductor Lachlan Massey.

Our students have been rehearsing all semester, learning six challenging choral works in two-part harmony. 

On Monday and Tuesday this week, they participated in two days of intensive workshops at Federation Concert Hall, culminating in a spectacular showcase performance on Tuesday evening.

A special congratulations goes to Abbey Moran (Year 5), who took on a star role as MC for the evening. Abbey represented our school beautifully, and we are incredibly proud of her and all of our talented choir members for their dedication, courage and outstanding performance.
