Mid-year exams

Well done to our Year 10, 11 and 12 students who have recently completed or are undertaking their mid-year examinations. Their commitment and perseverance throughout this period have been commendable. We hope that students have found the experience to be a valuable learning opportunity, not only in demonstrating their knowledge and skills but also in developing effective study habits and resilience.

As results and feedback become available, we strongly encourage students to engage proactively with this feedback, using it to identify strengths and areas for growth as they continue to progress in their learning journeys.

Student safety in public

There have been recent incidents in the Hobart CBD involving aggressive behaviour by members of the public, and it is important that our students feel equipped to navigate challenging situations and make safe and responsible choices in public spaces.

We encourage conversations at home about strategies for staying safe, such as remaining aware of surroundings, travelling in groups where possible, and seeking help from trusted adults or authorities if needed. As a College community, we remain committed to supporting students’ confidence and wellbeing, ensuring they feel prepared to respond safely in a variety of situations.

Cocurricular and extracurricular opportunities

Our cocurricular and extracurricular programs continue to play a vital role in enriching the life of the College and supporting the holistic development of our students.

  • Opportunities such as drama, sport, chess competitions, dance and debating allow students to build teamwork, discipline and communication skills while fostering school pride.
  • Representation at youth forums enables students to develop leadership and advocacy skills, providing a platform for their voices to be heard.
  • Participation in Retreats offers meaningful experiences that support faith development, personal reflection, wellbeing and a sense of connection.
  • The student op shop last Wednesday was a fantastic initiative that brought environmental awareness, sustainability and social justice to life. By offering free clothing, it encouraged students to re-purpose items and enjoy 'new' things without putting extra strain on the environment or their bank accounts – such a fun and meaningful activity!

We extend our sincere thanks to the many staff and families who generously contribute their time, energy and expertise to our cocurricular and extracurricular programs. Their support enables a rich and diverse range of opportunities that greatly enhance the student experience and strengthen our College community.

We warmly encourage all students to take advantage of these offerings, whether in sport, the arts, leadership or service, as they provide invaluable opportunities to build confidence, develop new skills and form lasting connections beyond the classroom.
