Nothing but net! Primary School Netball Championships
We were proud to once again field a representative team at the Netball Tasmania Primary School Netball Championships, held on Friday 19 June at the South East Stadium in Sorell.
Throughout the tournament, our players demonstrated excellent skill, determination and teamwork as they competed against primary schools from across southern Tasmania. It was pleasing to see the team’s confidence and performance continue to grow with each match.
Although we narrowly missed a place in the finals, every player should be extremely proud of their efforts and achievements.
Congratulations to coach Miss Jordan and all team members on their outstanding representation of the College.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the parents, carers and supporters who attended and cheered on the team throughout the day.
Interschool Cross Country Carnivals
Our interschool cross country team has already competed in both the JSSATIS and All Schools carnivals this season. This Friday, students will take part in the final cross country carnival for the year.
I look forward to sharing a full wrap-up of the cross country season in the next edition of The Fountain.
Term 2 junior sport
As Term 2 draws to a close, so too do our junior netball, hockey and water polo rosters. Congratulations to all students who participated this term. Their enthusiasm, commitment and sportsmanship have been wonderful and are a credit to both themselves and the College.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated coaches and team managers for their time and support, as well as to the families whose encouragement and involvement help make these opportunities possible.

2026 All Schools Cross Country Senior Carnival
On Thursday 11 June, our 22 Year 7–9 athletes headed off to the All Schools Cross Country Carnival at a very foggy Symmons Plains. Thankfully, by the time we arrived the conditions were close to perfect – not too cold, not too breezy and no rain.
The course is notoriously tough, with plenty of hills and tricky descents, but our students showed outstanding determination in every race. It was wonderful to see teammates supporting one another out on the course, offering encouragement when the running got tough and celebrating each other’s efforts at the finish line. That sense of support and team spirit was every bit as impressive as the results themselves.
We also had some standout individual performances, with Jess Edwards (Year 7) claiming an impressive 3rd place, and Abigail Mitchelmore (Year 8) finishing 4th in their respective events.
While the results were excellent, the day was about much more than placings. It was about backing your mates, challenging yourself and making memories on a great road trip. And of course, an All Schools trip wouldn't be complete without a stop in Campbell Town – the Lolly Shop was definitely a highlight for many!
A reminder that the Southern SATIS Cross Country Carnival has been rescheduled for Thursday 31 July (Week 1, Term 3) at Soldiers Memorial Oval/Walk. All information from the original carnival remains current, and the Consent2Go form has been resent to parents and carers to complete.
We are hoping to organise a couple of training runs around the course during the holidays. If you’re keen to join in, let us know and we’ll put a plan together.
