Specialist classes

Music - Mrs Scott
This term has been another exciting and busy one in the Music room, with students across all year levels developing their musical knowledge, skills and creativity through a range of engaging learning experiences.
Prep students explored music through the themes of The Jungle, Pirates and The Sea, developing their singing, movement and instrument-playing skills.
Year 1 students investigated body percussion, creating and performing rhythmic patterns and developed techniques for playing a variety of percussion instruments.
Year 2 students experienced music and dance from around the world and learnt to play along to music using Boomwhackers.
Year 3 students explored the importance of music within communities and learnt about the different instrument families of the orchestra.
Year 4 students discovered the traditions of African music and participated in collaborative drum circle activities.
Year 5 students developed their guitar skills, learning chords and riffs to accompany a range of songs in whole-class music-making sessions.
Year 6 students explored the role of music in film and worked collaboratively in small groups to plan and develop music projects, which they will present to their classmates.
I am so proud of the enthusiasm and effort students have shown throughout the term. Below are some highlights from another wonderful term of music learning:
