Year 6 Update

End of Term 2 Updates
Market Day is fast approaching, and students are well underway with their preparations. We are excited to see the creativity and effort that is going into planning stalls, products and games.
A reminder that parents are warmly welcomed (and encouraged!) to attend Market Day and be our students' first customers. Students may arrive from 8:30am to begin setting up their stalls. Stalls will be open for parents from 8:55am–9:15am, and we would love to see lots of friendly parent faces supporting our budding entrepreneurs. Following the parent session, students will have customers from other levels within the school before ending the day with their own opportunity to shop at each other's stalls.
Year 6 Urban Camp
Camp registrations are now open via a Compass event. Due to venue capacity restrictions, places are limited to the first 115 students who pay the $40 non-refundable deposit. Payment of the deposit secures your child's place on camp, with the remaining balance due by mid-October.
If you have any questions about camp before committing to a place, please speak with your child's classroom teacher.
Halfway Through Year 6 Party & Pyjama Day – Friday 19 June
Students are also invited to our 'Halfway Through Year 6!' Party on Friday 19 June. Students should have received an invitation where they have nominated a party food they would like to bring to share with their class. This party takes the place of the normal end of year parties that other levels have, as the end of Year 6 is an incredibly busy time!
This day also coincides with the SRC Pyjama Day Fundraiser. Students are invited to wear their pyjamas to school and bring a gold coin donation, with all funds raised going to Kids Helpline.
We can't believe how quickly this year is flying by and that we are already approaching the halfway point of our students' final year of primary school. It has been a fantastic start to the year, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone together.
Athletics Day
Our Year 6 students had a fantastic day at Casey Fields for Athletics Day on Wednesday 10th June. The weather was kind to us, and students enthusiastically participated in a range of track and field events throughout the day.
It was wonderful to see so many students giving their best effort, encouraging their peers and demonstrating excellent sportsmanship. Whether students were competing for ribbons, trying a new event or cheering on their house team, everyone contributed to a positive and supportive atmosphere. There were plenty of ribbons shared across the cohort, many personal bests achieved and lots of smiles along the way. Most importantly, students created lasting memories with their friends while embracing the spirit of friendly competition.
We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 6 students represented themselves and our school. It was a fun-filled day that showcased teamwork, resilience and house pride at its very best.
