Sick Bay Notifications & Updates

Hello, parents and guardians. My name is Shani, and I am your School Nurse/First Aider for 2026.

At school, we have a Sick Bay available for students who may feel unwell, have a minor injury, or need medication administered.

When your child attends Sick Bay, a Compass post will be added, and families will receive a notification. This is to keep you informed of any incidents or concerns.

If your child is unwell and needs to be collected, a member of our administration team or I will contact you directly.

Please note, receiving a notification does not mean your child needs to be collected — it is simply to keep you updated.

Please also note that I will initiate a Courtesy Call after it has been deemed safe for your child to return to class, including for any head-related injuries (e.g., a nosebleed or a head bump).

Again, this does not mean your child needs to be collected – this process is in place to help keep you updated on any injuries or changes in condition your child may sustain whilst under our care.

I will NOT call for any other types of injuries, with the exception of life-threatening injuries (e.g., loss of consciousness, heavy bleeding, limb compromise).

Additionally, parents and guardians are responsible for keeping contact details up to date and accurate at all times so we can reach you in a timely manner.

Please see our administration team to have this updated when needed.

As we move throughout the year, Nurse Shani will contact you regarding updates needed for Action Plans and New Medications.

Please ensure you check your inbox for these emails and action by the due date as indicated in the attachments.

Thank you for your support in helping us care for all students.

I am enjoying working with your children as they navigate this new year! 😊
