Congratulations to Levi Mair from Year 7 on this amazing accomplishment. Levi participated in the Australian Jiu Jitsu Championship and was awarded a silver medal for the 13yrs age group. We are incredibly proud of his success!

Celebrating Taleea Brown’s AFL Premiership Success

A huge congratulations to Taleea Brown on an incredible achievement in the Under 16 AFL Premiership!

Taleea’s team, Oak Park, took on Maribyrnong at Hadfield on Sunday 17 August, securing a fantastic 20–15 victory to claim the Under 16 Premiership!

What an amazing accomplishment, Taleea! We are incredibly proud to celebrate your success.

Updated Student Sign-In Procedure

Dear Students and Families,

To ensure accurate attendance records and maintain student safety, all students arriving late must follow the sign-in process below from Day 1, Term 3.

If You Arrive Late to School

Report directly to the Front Office upon arrival.
Use your Compass Student ID Card to sign in at the Compass Kiosk located in the Front Office.
- If you do not have your ID card, you can sign in using your name and date of birth.
Select the reason for being late (e.g. slept in, traffic, late bus, or medical appointment).
The kiosk will take a photo to verify your identity, after which you will receive a late pass.
Proceed to your timetabled class and present your late pass to your teacher, who will mark you as late.

Parent/Guardian Notification

Parents/guardians are asked to enter a note on Compass if their child is late due to a medical appointment.
Unexplained or frequent lateness may be followed up by Attendance Officers and Year Level Coordinators.

Important Reminders

If students does not attain an arrival slip, they will be asked to return to the office or be marked as truant from class.
If students are completing VCE subjects a medical certificate needs to be provided any medical absence.
For absences of 3+ days a medical certificate needs to be provided.
Signing in via the Compass kiosk supports accurate attendance records and the school’s duty of care.

Student ID Cards

Student ID cards are available for purchase at a cost of $10 per student.
These cards are Transport Victoria approved and can be used as official student identification, including for concession fares.
Families who have made a curriculum contribution are not required to pay for the ID card.
ID cards will be issued once payment has been received.

Important Update – Student Sign‑Out Process

Dear Parents and Carers,

Mickleham Secondary College has updated its student sign‑out procedures to support student safety and accurate attendance recording. Please ensure that you are familiar with the process outlined below.

Attendance Notes

Parents/carers are required to enter attendance notes on Compass for all absences, or early departures ensuring you have added a reason for absence. Refer to the attached guide.
If you are unable to add a note on Compass:
- Please phone the school and leave a voicemail by selecting Option 1
- Email the college the absence - mickleham.sc@education.vic.gov.au
A medical certificate must be provided for 3+ days of medical absence.
For extended holidays or absence, you must email your request in writing to mickleham.sc@education.vic.gov.au. This will be reviewed by a member of the principal team.

Student Early Departure

Students must sign out at the student information desk to Junior / Senior School Admin Manager in their designated student information desk in Banksia / Grevillea.
An exit pass will be issued and must be provided to the front office as proof of exit, or departure will be verified via Compass.

Parent‑Requested Early Sign‑Out

Early sign‑out requests must be for an acceptable and urgent reason only.
Approved reasons include:
- Medical appointments (where possible, please book outside school hours)
- Family emergencies
- Approved school activities (e.g. modified timetables approved by Coordinators or Principal)
From 2:30pm onwards, parents/carers must sign students out via the Compass Kiosk located in the front office. Students may not be able to be collected from classes after 2:30pm onwards.

STUDENT ID CARDS

Dear MSC Families,

Mickleham Secondary College is currently arranging the production and distribution of student ID cards.

Student ID cards are available for purchase at a cost of $10 per student. These cards are Transport Victoria approved and can be used by students as a recognised form of student identification, including as proof of entitlement when purchasing student passes and concession fares.

Families who would like their child to receive a student ID card are asked to make payment as soon as possible, as cards will only be issued to students where payment has been received.

Families who have already paid their curriculum contributions will automatically receive their child’s student ID card and do not need to make any further payment.

Payments can be made via:

• Compass payment portal for parent contributions

• Card payment at the Front Office

• Cash payment at the Front Office

Student ID cards will begin being distributed during PDS classes to students who have paid for a card.

If your family is experiencing financial difficulty, or if you have any questions regarding payment or distribution, please contact the Administration Office on (03) 8764 1000.
