CULTURE, CONNECTION AND COMMUNITY

Koorie group students at Mickleham Secondary College were warmly invited to participate in an exciting three-day immersive program at the brand-new Hume Tech School, the ‘Seven Sisters: Sky Stories’ project. This was an exploration into cultural astronomy and the Pleiades constellation inspired by the Seven Sisters sculpture (by Chris Joy and Aunty Kim Wandin) at the Hume Tech School.

Representing our college, the students involved took part in storytelling, hands-on creative activities, and experimentation with a range of media technologies. They explored sound, video, and visual storytelling to create a short audio-visual representation of their telling of the story. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect, collaborate creatively and see themselves represented in an innovative STEM experience. We are incredibly proud of the way our students engaged, contributed, and represented our school throughout the immersive.
