SCIENCE

As part of National Science Week's 2026 theme, "Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all", Year 7 students spent some time working in our garden! They worked together to plant a range of seedlings, including celery, mint, beans, peas and more. For some students, this was their first experience with gardening, while others brought previous gardening experience and were fantastic at sharing their knowledge and helping their classmates! 

As the seedlings continue to grow, students will have the opportunity to see their hard work develop into fresh produce that can eventually be used in Food Tech lessons. The project has been a wonderful way for students to connect their Science learning to the real world while developing practical skills, collaboration and an appreciation for how science helps us understand the world around us. 

Chemistry in Action!

Our students have been learning by doing in the Chemistry classroom! 

Through practical experiments, students have been developing their scientific skills, working collaboratively and exploring chemical reactions firsthand. It’s fantastic to see their curiosity, teamwork and enthusiasm for science in action!

🦴 Introducing the newest member of our science team – Anna! 🦴

Anna is always ready to lend a hand… well, technically a bone! 😄She’ll be hanging around the Science area, keeping an eye on things, and reminding us that Science is in our bones! 🧪🔬
