📚 Resource Centre – Term 3, Week 10 Update

It has been another fantastic term in the Resource Centre, with plenty of new activities, spaces and opportunities for students to learn, connect, create and relax. It has been wonderful to see students embracing the Resource Centre and contributing ideas that continue to shape our space.

🧩 Puzzle Nook Success!

Our new Puzzle Nook in the Zen Zone has been a huge hit! Students have completely embraced the space, and we have already celebrated the completion of an impressive 500-piece puzzle. It has been wonderful to see students working together, developing persistence and problem-solving skills while enjoying some quiet time away from the busyness of the school day.

The challenge continues! A new space-themed 1000-piece puzzle is now underway and is already proving to be a challenge for our students. Students are working piece by piece towards completing this much larger puzzle. We can't wait to see the finished picture!

🤫 Quiet Study Space & Young Achievers Club

Our Quiet Study Space and Young Achievers Club continue to grow, with more students choosing to use this space for their intended purpose. It has been fantastic to see students independently seeking out a calm environment to complete work, study, access academic support or focus without distractions.

💡 Your Suggestions Matter!

A huge thank you to all the students across the school who have taken the time to contribute ideas and suggestions through our Suggestion Box. Your feedback helps shape the Resource Centre and gives us a better understanding of what students would like to see.

One of the most exciting outcomes has been creating a student-requested book list for 2027. Keep an eye on our New Arrivals shelves for titles inspired by your suggestions, including Vinland Saga, Yuri!!! on Ice and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Keep those suggestions coming!

📖 Book Week – Symphony of Stories

Book Week – Symphony of Stories brought the Resource Centre to life! The library was buzzing with excitement throughout the week, and we saw some amazing costumes and enthusiastic participation from students and staff.

Students enjoyed a different activity each day:

• Monday: 📚 Book Week Bingo (Winners Liodmila & Gia)
• Tuesday: 🔖 Create a Bookmark (Winners Rahimah &Ashavpreet)
• Wednesday: 🧩 Mazes & Quizzes and Origami Frogs (Winners Stevie & Wania)
• Thursday: 🎨 Colouring-In & Photo Booth (Winners Haven & Liodmila)
• Friday: 🔎 Scavenger Hunt 

A huge thank you to all staff and students who participated in our Book Week activities. Your enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to join in helped make the week a wonderful celebration of books, reading and our school community.

🦋 New Origami Station

Our new Origami Station is now open in the Resource Centre! Come along and have a go at creating your own koala bookmark, ice cream, fish and more. It’s a fun way to get creative, learn something new and enjoy some relaxing time in the library.

🌟 Resource Centre Shout-Outs

A special shout-out to Miss Naomi Garcia for making great use of the Resource Centre’s EAL resources and borrowing books to support her students. It is fantastic to see staff accessing the collection and using these resources to enhance learning and support the diverse needs of our students. Thank you, Naomi, for your commitment to supporting your students! 📚🌏

🧩 Riddle of the Day – Connecting Our Community

A huge shout-out to our Riddle of the Day regulars—Rayne, River, Kaeem, Hasheem and Angelo—for being our most frequent flyers and always being ready to take on the latest challenge!

A big thank you to Jessica Edwards, Casey Cesarin and Daniel Wilson for their consistent participation and enthusiasm. We love seeing staff getting involved alongside our students!

And a special thank you to everyone who swings by to check out the riddle, have a guess, share an answer or simply stop for a chat. These small moments of connection help create an inclusive and welcoming environment where students and staff can share ideas, build confidence and celebrate achievement together.

The Riddle of the Day has become more than just a challenge—it has become a wonderful opportunity to spark curiosity, encourage conversation and build connections across our school community. 🧩💡🤝

📚 Library Leader & Assistant Shout-Out

A very special shout-out to our Library Leader, Sarah, and Library Assistants Anish and Lily for their incredible commitment to the Resource Centre and their dedication to learning new skills, systems and processes.

From the simple but essential jobs, such as stamping and processing new books, to helping keep the Resource Centre organised and welcoming, every contribution makes a difference.

A special mention to Sarah for the amazing work she does keeping our Fiction and Non-Fiction sections organised and in order. Her attention to detail, initiative and commitment to the Resource Centre are truly valued.

Thank you, Sarah, Anish and Lily! The Resource Centre simply wouldn't be the same without you. Your hard work, enthusiasm and willingness to learn and help are a wonderful example of student leadership, responsibility and pride in our shared space. 📚🌟👏

🌟 Looking Ahead to Term 4

There is plenty more to look forward to in Term 4! Keep an eye out for our new Genre of the Week display and accompanying activities designed to introduce students to different genres, encourage exploration and help readers discover their next great book.

The Resource Centre continues to evolve into a space where students can read, learn, study, create, connect and recharge. It has been wonderful to see students taking ownership of the different spaces and contributing ideas that help shape the Resource Centre.
