VCE Chemistry Excursion

THE ART OF CHEMISRTY 

Year 11 VCE Chemistry students went on an excursion to Quantum Victoria in October where they got the opportunity to put the knowledge they had learned about analytical chemistry techniques to the test in a hands-on investigative experience. 

The students got to become forensic investigators for the day, using techniques such as acid tests, flame tests, colorimetry and volumetric analysis to determine which of three famous paintings were fraudulent.

This was a great experience for the students to hone their practical skills and apply their knowledge to a real-world scenario. 

A great day was had by all!
