Principal's Report

Dr Lisa Vinnicombe

As pictured here, the students from Year 11 Outdoor Ed experienced the joy of the great outdoors and camping in nature. Further on in this newsletter, there will be more from Ms Zoe Slatter, who organised and led this great camp. I am delighted to see our students taking these opportunities to challenge themselves and try new things, and am grateful to our wonderful teachers, Ms Slatter, Ms Mitreski and Mr Hakki, for going along and enjoying the experience with the students.

I am also pleased to report that there has been some action from the VSBA regarding the new buildings. In the last 3 weeks, builders have come through to check our site and decide who will pick up the tender to start work as soon as possible. Again, this is all much later than expected and has been a disappointing period for all of us, so we hope we can soon move on and enjoy the new buildings some time in 2026.

Our year 12 students have finished their exams and I again congratulate this cohort on an exemplary examination period. Families have received information about the two celebrations coming up in December: formal and graduation. Please check Compass this week and RSVP so we know who is attending these events.

Students in years 10 and 11 start exams next week and I wish them well. We now run formal exams at these levels to give students the opportunity to show what they have learned and demonstrate evidence that they are ready for the next year. Please ensure that all students are ready to attend the step-up program after exams, as this is most important for preparation for next year.

Students in the junior years will also sit tests and exams in the last few weeks and your teachers will explain that process to you.

Please read carefully the column on the upcoming social media ban, as this will no doubt impact many of our students. It is a good ban, and it is timely, and I trust our families will be supportive.

This newsletter is packed - I hope you enjoy reading about the activities and achievements of our school community!
