Unit 1 VCE Biology Investigation
Unit 1 VCE Biology students conducted their own investigations into the factors that affect the rate of water movement through plants. Using a potometer, students collected data by measuring water uptake and explored how environmental conditions influence transpiration.
The investigation allowed students to apply their understanding of plant transport systems, while developing important scientific skills, including experimental design, data analysis and drawing evidence-based conclusions.

Year 7 Science Students Explore 'Pulleys as Simple Machines'
Year 7 Science students have been investigating pulleys as part of their study of simple machines. Through hands-on experiments, students explored how pulley systems work and how they can reduce the effort needed to lift heavy objects.
Students tested different pulley designs, collected data and examined how mechanical advantage can make tasks easier. The activity helped develop their problem-solving, teamwork and scientific investigation skills, while showing how simple machines are used in everyday life.
