Attendance Update

At Skye Primary School, we value every day of learning and work in partnership with families to support strong attendance, connection and wellbeing for all students.

Year 2 is an important year for consolidating key skills. Being at school every day supports students to stay connected to their learning and continue developing independence.

Congratulations to our Grade 2 Eco Warriors for being selected by Mrs Furlong, Mrs Weiss and Graeme. Their first BIG responsibility was organising our Grade 2 Cohort for Clean Up Skye Day!

Learning Over the Holidays

• Literacy: we have sent home log in details to students for the Little Learners Online Platform and have assigned appropriate levelled texts. Continuing the reading habit over the break will ensure routines are maintained and children continue to rehearse and review their phonemic knowledge. Students should also be encouraged to read a broad variety of print, oral and digital texts to continue developing their love of literacy.
• Maths: Mathletics log in details have also been sent home. This app is a great way for students to have some adored 'tech time' and be doing something that will support their mathematical thinking without them even realising it!
• A head start for Term 2: Next term, we will be using Julia Donaldson's picture story book 'Tiddler,' as well as Jon Scieszka's 'The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.' Towards the end of the term, we will also be exploring Dr Seuss' 'The Lorax.' You may like to expose your children to these texts over the holidays as a head start! Check out the clips below!
