Sunfest

On Saturday 15 March, three of our students represented Sunbury College at Sunfest. Cat Heim, Georgia Soderstrom, and Sophie performed 20 minutes of music between them to the community. All three students made our College proud with their confident and engaging performances, showing the Sunbury community the musical talent we have at Sunbury College.

On Thursday 20 March, our VET Music students attended the Melbourne Recital Centre to watch one of the Top Class performances. Top Class is a showcase of the highest scoring students in their VCE and VET Music classes. Not only did our students get to see the high standard of musical performances the state has to offer, but our very own, Travis Boase, was also invited to perform which is a huge achievement.

Our Unit 3 VET Music students have been able to reflect on their own performances, and have started to have conversations about what they can do to achieve the high standard of music that was on display at the Melbourne Recital Centre.

A reminder to parents and students that instrumental music classes are almost full. If you are interested in taking instrumental music lessons, please contact Candeece Brown on candeece.brown@education.vic.gov.au for more information.

Other Updates from the Term

We have had a busy start to the year in the Performing Arts department. Our instrumental lessons have been up and running for the past three weeks and we currently have 100 students involved with most instruments filled up with a wait list.

For students wanting to take instrumental music lessons, we are offering FREE lessons on flute, clarinet and saxophone for students in Years 7, 8 and 9 students who have not learnt before! This is a saving of $240 (lesson and hire charge).

If you are interested in taking instrumental music lessons at the school on flute, clarinet or saxophone, please complete the enrolment form by clicking on the link below:
