Our Senior Boys, Senior Girls, and Intermediate Boys teams represented St Norbert College at the SSWA Futsal Championships held at Cockburn Arc.
The Senior Girls began their carnival with a narrow loss that ultimately prevented qualification for the state championships. However, they remained undefeated for the rest of the day, including a hard-fought 1–1 draw against eventual champions Safety Bay – a match they led until the final kick of the game.
The Senior Boys faced a tough group, with both the A and B teams narrowly missing out on state qualification despite strong efforts. The boys played some nice football at times but found it difficult against strong opposition.
The Intermediate Boys fielded A, B, and C teams, all of whom performed admirably. The B and C teams secured two wins each, while the A team missed state qualification by just one loss – to South Coast, the eventual champions. Unfortunately, the A team needed results to go our way for us to progress as the best 2nd place team.
Looking ahead, next term will be full of outdoor games with our Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Senior Girls, and Intermediate Boys competing in the Champion Schools Competition. Our Senior Boys and Girls will also represent the College in the upcoming ACC Championships.
