Year 7

As we approach the end of Term 1, we take time to reflect on what a busy and exciting start to the year for our Year 7 students as they transitioned to High School.
Since the last newsletter, our Year 7 students participated in NAPLAN testing and we are proud of how well they approached the assessments, showing great focus and determination. NAPLAN plays an important role in tracking student progress in literacy and numeracy, and we are confident our Year 7s gave it their best effort. Well done to all students who completed these tests!
A major highlight towards the end of the term was the Year 7 Social, “The Amazing Race!” Students had an absolute blast working in teams to complete challenges set by our Student Representative Council. It was a fun and energetic opportunity for Year 7s to bond with their peers and to make some new friends. Congratulations to the winning teams, and thank you to everyone who helped organise this memorable event.
As Term 1 comes to a close, interim reports are now available for all Year 7 students. These reports provide valuable feedback on your child’s progress. It’s a great time to reflect on how the term has gone and to set goals for the next one. We encourage all families to take a close look at the reports and to celebrate the progress made so far.
Looking ahead to Term 2, please check your child’s interim report to see if Parent-Student-Teacher meetings have been requested. These meetings will be held at the start of Term 2 and provide an excellent opportunity to discuss your child’s academic performance and goals with their teachers. If you have not yet scheduled a meeting, please be sure to do so to ensure you don’t miss out on this important conversation.
As the weather (hopefully!) cools, we would like to remind all Year 7 students to return to school in their Winter Uniforms at the beginning of Term 2. Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct uniform. If you need a reminder of the uniform requirements, please refer to the College website, Student Diary, or contact the Uniform Shop directly.
We hope all Year 7 students enjoy a restful and well-deserved holiday.
We look forward to welcoming them back for another exciting and productive term in Term 2!
Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing break!
