Moriac Kinder - Community Connection

This term, we are excited to launch our new Community Connection Program in partnership with Moriac Kindergarten. Each week, a group of selected students from Years 3, 4 and 5 visit the kindergarten to engage in activities alongside the kinder children. This wonderful initiative provides our students with the opportunity to develop their leadership, communication and mentoring skills while building positive relationships with our youngest community members. We are proud to strengthen the connection between Moriac Kindergarten and Moriac Primary School, helping to create a sense of belonging and a smooth transition for future students.

Respectful Relations Curriculum

As part of our commitment to supporting students' social and emotional wellbeing, all classes at Moriac Primary School continue to participate in the Respectful Relationships curriculum. This evidence-based program helps students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to build positive relationships, show respect for others and contribute to a safe and inclusive school community. This term, students will be exploring Topic 6: Help Seeking, which focuses on recognising when support is needed and identifying trusted people who can help, and Topic 7: Gender Norms and Stereotypes, where students will learn to challenge stereotypes, appreciate diversity and promote equality and respect for everyone.

Attendance 

Regular school attendance plays a vital role in every child's learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. Attending school every day helps students build positive friendships, develop consistent learning habits and stay connected with their teachers and classmates. Even missing a few days each term can make it more challenging for students to keep up with their learning and feel confident in the classroom. We encourage families to support regular attendance wherever possible and to communicate with the school if there are any circumstances impacting their child's attendance. At Moriac PS we value working together to ensure every student has the best opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
