Welcome to Term 3! Students have had a great start to our new art subjects across all year levels. With many exciting things planned for the term, read on to see what students have been up to.

Grade Prep

In Drama, students have been learning about the term 'role-play', and how we can use our imagination to transform how we move and speak to become a different person, animal or thing. In Visual Arts, the students have been creating different kinds of puppets, including paper bag and finger puppets.

Grade 1/2

In Drama, students have been learning about the differences in 'improvising' a performance and 'rehearsing' a performance. In Visual Arts, they have been creating artworks that share ideas about themselves, such as favourite foods or favourite holiday destinations.

Grade 3/4

In Media Arts, students have begun planning a short film with a group. So far they have written a story outline, as well drawing storyboards for their movies. In Visual Arts, students have been learning about the elements of art, such as line and colour, and how they can be used effectively to improve their artwork.

Grade 5/6

In Media Arts, students have been working in groups to develop a film idea, such as a commercial, documentary, cooking show etc. They have begun to design storyboards for their films. In Visual Arts, students are looking at Op Art, and how they can trick a person's eyes with different types of optical illusions.
