Prep Update

Term 3 half way already!
It has been amazing to see our Prep students demonstrating just how much they have learnt! Now that they have learnt their letters and established strong segmenting and blending skills, everything is beginning to come together in their reading and writing. It is wonderful to see their growing confidence and the joy they experience when they recognise just how much they can now do independently.
Our excursion to Moonlit Sanctuary was a great success. Despite the weather, nothing could dampen the children’s enthusiasm—or the animals’! The students had a fantastic day exploring and learning about Australian animals.
Following our excursion, the children have loved learning more about different animals, including their features, diets and habitats. They enthusiastically put their learning into action by creating their own animal dioramas featuring a cockatoo, snake, emu, koala or wombat. We have loved seeing their creativity and knowledge come together.
There is still so much to look forward to this term, including our swimming program, Book Week parade and dress-up day, and Fathers and Special Others Day. We can’t wait to share all these special experiences with our wonderful Preps!

- Readers. Please continue to support your child by reading with them each day. As they learn new letters, sounds and words, regular practice helps build their confidence and improve their reading skills. Please ensure that when you read, you record this in their phonics books. This helps your child's teacher to acknowledge, celebrate and support your child's development further.
- Library books. Remember to return library books on your child's library day.
- Stay Updated on Your Child’s Learning. Please check Compass regularly to see information about your child’s assessments and progress. Compass also keeps you informed about important events and any changes at school.
