Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity

This fortnight children have been showing care and respect for others in the centre as we continue the kindness campaign. Children have been aware of others when using resources, passing them on when finished or inviting them to join in. They have been practicing their advocacy, letting friends know when they need time to themselves or asking for assistance with how they communicate their needs to friends and educators. This can be seen often when playing outside on the bikes or investigating new resources in the rooms.

Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world 

Through our dramatic play areas in the rooms, children have been sharing their experiences and knowledge of the world around them. Dressing up as doctors, chefs and veterinarians, taking on different roles in the play helps broaden the children's understanding of the various parts people play in our community and how they can work together.

Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing 

During the clear weather days, children have had opportunities to visit the school for big fitness activities; running, football, soccer, catch, cartwheels and tug of war on the oval or challenging themselves on the obstacle course and playgrounds, climbing up and over, through or under things, keeping balance and other gross motor skills. Through this play, children build their spatial awareness along with strengthening their muscles and understanding of how their body works.

Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners  

As we continue our inquiry into light, children have asked multiple questions led from their curiosity, furthering their investigation into; How rainbows are made or Where they come from? What are shadows? How can we make shadows? How far can light go? Why can we see through some materials and not others? Why do some shadows have colour? How can we make shadows coloured? The sharing of these questions with peers, and experiments created to gain answers, have seen high engagement and focus from children with much excitement when discoveries are made.

Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators 

Children have been working on their listening skills, a very important part of communication. Through reading of stories, small world play and negotiation of imaginary games, children are given opportunities to show their understanding of others with conversational turn taking of listening, clarifying and speaking. Group games of 'what sound is that?' or identifying sounds outside, also helps children enhance their listening skills and slow down before communicating their ideas.
