Japan Study Tour

The Japan Study Tour was an unforgettable experience filled with moments that felt straight out of a dream.

From standing in the middle of the famous Shibuya Crossing, surrounded by neon lights and the energy of Tokyo, to gazing out from Tokyo Skytree at the endless skyline below. We experienced the history and culture first-hand, visiting Nijō Castle and strolling in the streets of Kyoto dressed in traditional kimonos. Best believe I ticked that one off my bucket list!

Meeting our host families in Osaka and spending a week with them gave us a glimpse into everyday Japanese life. One of the most heartwarming experiences was visiting the deer at Nara Park, who bow in exchange for snacks, representing the kindness and hospitality of Japanese people. We spent our most meaningful time at Sakuyakonohana High School, connecting with students, building strong bonds and learning about each other.

Looking back, the trip still feels surreal. It’s hard to believe we were really there! Even though I had always dreamed of visiting Japan, being there in person made me fall in love with it all over again. It was such a rewarding experience, not only because I learned so much about Japanese culture, but also because I made new friends, both internationally and from DHS. Together, we created memories that will last a lifetime. This journey truly strengthened my appreciation for Japan and deepened my interest in its culture, people, and way of life.

また会う日まで、日本!Until the day we meet again, Japan!
