Our Grade 3’s have been very busy over the last few weeks!

After much preparation, we have successfully finished our first year of NAPLAN testing, completing Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy tests. Students showed growth mindsets and great resilience. We, as their teachers, could not be prouder.

Our Grade 3’s have been working on editing and revising their writing by correcting spelling mistakes, adding punctuation and capital letters, and using synonyms to make the text more interesting.

In Numeracy, students have been looking at fact families for the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, as well as reading analog and digital time. Students have used the CUBES strategy to solve worded mathematical problems, which helps them to understand what information is necessary in the problem.

In Inquiry, Grade 3’s have been exploring healthy and unhealthy choices and the impacts these can have on our lives and bodies.

Our students are getting excited for Harmony Week activities and cultural dress in week 9. We can’t wait for everyone to get to share more about their cultural backgrounds!
