STUDENTS OF THE WEEK

Reading

 In Reading, students have been focusing on the strategy of visualising. They are learning to create detailed mental images as they read, using clues from the text and their prior knowledge to imagine characters, settings, and events. This skill helps students engage with texts at a deeper level, improves comprehension, and brings stories to life in meaningful and creative ways. 

Writing 

In Writing, students have been exploring poetry by creating their own pieces that incorporate a range of language features. They are learning to use techniques such as similes, metaphors, and repetition, while carefully considering their audience and making thoughtful word choices to enhance the meaning and impact of their writing.

Numeracy 

In Numeracy, students have been exploring fractions, including improper fractions, mixed numbers, and equivalent fractions. They are learning to add and subtract fractions with confidence, using strategies to solve problems and understand how the numbers work together. This focus is helping them build strong numeracy skills while discovering patterns and connections in mathematics.
