Grevillea House

Hello everyone! My name is Uarda and I am the Year 11 Student Representative of Grevillea House. 

Being a part of the SRC has allowed me to represent the voices of my peers as well as attempting to make a positive impact on the school community. It’s rewarding to see the ideas and feedback turn into real changes, like different school events, fundraisers etc. 

In Term 2, there has been a range of events like Swimming Carnival and Athletics. Athletics Day, as well as Swimming Carnival, was full of House spirit and healthy competition where people were stepping out of their comfort zone to participate in the events. 

Beyond these two major events, we’ve had House Chorals, which was impressive to see how many people were interested in participating in. I’m delighted to say that Grevillea won the 2025 Chorals Competition! I’m extremely proud of all the students in Grevillea who participated in the event and had the confidence to step out of their comfort zone to be apart of something amazing. I’d like to extend my gratitude to Ms. Leemann, Ms. Rhiannon and Mr. Mullen for making this achievement possible. Chorales is a unique event that our school partakes in which is why it is encouraged for students to be apart of. Hopefully in the near future, Grevillea will be able to see more wins to come. 

Furthermore, there have been a range of SRC meetings where we have started planning upcoming events for everyone to participate in! This involves lunchtime events, fundraisers, and more. Currently, we have already developed a range of lunchtime events in the G1 and G2 spaces. It would be appreciated for all the students in Grevillea to take part in these events to build House spirit, strengthen friendships, build a welcoming community and show pride as being apart of Grevillea House. 

Overall, this term has had a productive and positive start as well as an ending that is in great preparation for Term 3. I am looking forward to seeing what is still yet to come. I wish everyone the best of luck and to enjoy your holidays before returning back to school. Stay safe and take care!
