Primary School Update – End of Term 2
What a joy it was to gather as a community for Friday’s Primary Assembly!
Congratulations to all the students who received awards. We are so proud of you.
A special shout out to our amazing Year 5 students for their phenomenal performance of drumming, poetry, and dance. It was such a creative and entertaining presentation. A huge thanks to Mr Chapman, Mrs Mannion, and Mrs Bowen for all the work they put into preparing the students.
Primary School reports will be available via Compass at the end of this week. If you have any questions or concerns after reading your child’s report, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their teacher.
Parent/teacher interviews will be held at the end of next term and are a great opportunity to touch base and partner together in your child’s learning journey.
This Friday we will have a Mufti Day, where students are invited to wear warm, comfortable clothes of their choice. We kindly ask that each child brings a gold coin donation. Funds raised will support Carriana, our Primary School sponsor child - an initiative led by our Primary Student Representative Council.
Carriana recently started Kindergarten at Kurungu Christian Academy in Kenya. She lives with her parents in Kurungu Village, where Mission Samburu is based. Her family once relied on a small herd of goats for survival, but when her father became seriously ill, they had to sell all their livestock to pay for his treatment. While he is now recovering, the family is facing great hardship. The money raised on Mufti Day helps provide Carriana with access to education, food and healthcare and reminds her family that they are not alone.
Thank you for all your support throughout Term 2. What a rich and joyful term it has been!
As we look back with gratitude, I leave you with this verse:
“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” – Psalm 118:23
I pray that the break is restful and rejuvenating for you and your families.
