TAFE YES Program

Term 2 Week 8

Three of our Year 10 students - Aliza, Abby and Millie - successfully built a scaled-down car bonnet during their five-week TAFE YES Program in Spray Painting and Panel Beating.

This is an amazing program aimed at helping students find successful pathways post school through engaging, practical hands-on experiences, TAFE NSW training days, industry visits and placements.

Students get to try a range of trades and gain valuable insight and expertise into what a career in trades looks like.

Here are some of their comments -

Aliza - I was really excited to spray paint but also found it really interesting to make and mould the metal myself. I had never done anything like this before.

Abby - I enjoyed having a new experience - doing something more practical outside of school . I learn more when I actually do it myself and am not just told or shown.

Millie - I enjoy spray painting and panel beating - I had done it with dad before, but now I had to do it myself and create my own piece. I enjoyed it so much that I am continuing with work experience to further my knowledge.

Congratulations girls!
