Countdown to end of Year 12

As we move into these last few weeks of Term Three, excitement is building amongst our Year 12 students as they enter the season of “lasts”. 

To support families during this busy time we have produced a “Countdown to the end of Year 12” guide which outlines upcoming activities, events and logistics for Year 12 students and their families, from now to Valedictory evening on Wednesday, 16 October.  This information will be released early next week and will be discussed with all Year 12 students at a meeting with the Head of Year 11/12. 

Earlybird arrivals

Recently we have seen an increase in the number of students who are arriving at school early. As a reminder the front door of 50 William Street will not be open to students until 7.30am each morning for early entry into the school. Unless students have a co-curricular commitment, which commences prior to this time, they should not be arriving at school before 7.30am as they will not be able to gain entry. 

This allows for plenty of time before PCG starts at 8.30am. At the end of the day, students staying behind must attend a co-curricular activity or, on Monday and Friday they can study in The Laurence Library, which is open until 4.00pm. No students can remain unaccompanied on other floors of the school or at CQU unless they are with a member of staff. The Laurence Library has academic staff allocated to support students in their study endeavours at Homework Help co-curricular from Tuesday to Thursday until 4.40pm.

School Photos

This week we held our catch up photo day for students who were absent on the original Photo Day earlier this term. Any students who were unable to present for their photo on the catch up day can book a studio appointment at the Kapture Studio in Malaga to still have their 2024 photo taken. These bookings usually take place during school holidays. If you haven’t yet ordered your school photos, please ensure you do so as soon as possible.
