Year 7 Basketball

 Upper Hume Carnival

 

Seventeen of our Year 7s hit the Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre courts for the School Sport Victoria Upper Hume Basketball carnival.

 

For the girls, Captain and Wangaratta Warriors rep player Matilda Lang led scoring with 17, while Peyton Robinson (7) and Vice Captain Koko Hogan (4) also chimed in.

 

Top defenders were two Wangaratta representative Netballers Peyton Robinson and Emma Kelly.

 

For the boys, top scorers were Ethan Allen and Jordan Woodrow, with Woodrow and James Sorrolla the leading rebounders.

 

SIGNIFICANT HISTORY - Girl's coach Rheanna Lang (then Rheanna McWaters) was part of our 1997 Year 7 Basketball team which finished 2nd in Victoria, going down in the State Final by just 2 points to Balwyn High School - the same school we lost to in last year’s State Quarter Final in Intermediate Girls Cricket.
