Year 10 Science

Our Year 10 Core Science students have been getting creative while exploring Genetics and Inheritance through a fun and hands-on “Vegie Family” activity!

Students created their very own “Ma” and “Pa” potatoes, each with predetermined genes. Using these genetic traits, they then predicted what characteristics their “children” might inherit and created their very own happy little Vegemites! 🥔👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

The activity provided a fun way for students to put their understanding of genes, inherited traits, dominant and recessive characteristics, and genetic variation into practice.

The result was a wonderful collection of unique Vegie families — each with their own combination of inherited traits!
