Beachside Track and Field | 2024 Basketball Academy | Southern Metro Regional Tennis
Congratulations to our Track and Field Team
On Monday 26th August, 23 students represented Chelt.Sec at the Beachside Track and Field event. A great day was had by all and we had some great athletic performances. Congratulations to our first place getters who will now compete at the Southern Metro Region event in October. Thank you Mr Gibson for being such a great mentor to the students.
2024 Basketball Academy
What a great season for our Basketball Academy!
The McKinnon Basketball Association Winter Competition has come to an end. Congratulations to our Under 16 team, who qualified for the Semi-Final and congratulations to our Under 14 team who won their Grand Final last Saturday (39 -17) and well done to Lochlan for winning the Sportsmanship Award.
Both of the teams have worked hard this season and the college and their coaching team are very proud of their efforts. For two out of two, school teams to get to finals is a fantastic result, up against so many local basketball clubs.
Thank you to Josie, Jack and Jono from Synergise Health and Sports Development, who have coached the teams in a successful season. We appreciate your commitment to the teams and the values of our college and Sports Academy.
Thank you to the parents and guardians of the players. Weekend activities can be a busy time, requiring precision planning. Thank you for taking on the roles of supporter, taxi driver, game score and photographer.
The 2024-2025 Summer season will begin in October and we can't wait to see what the teams are capable of. We still need a few extra players in our Under 16 team, for any players born in 2010 or 2011, please email har@cheltsec.vic.edu.au if you are interested.
SMR Tennis
Congratulations to our Year 8 tennis team, the boys came first in the Beachside competition last Summer and have patiently waited for the 'tennis weather' to return. They played well all day and came runners up in their pool of the Southern Metro Regional finals.
